Elected officials giving early show of support

COLONIAL HEIGHTS – This morning, the Mike Cherry for Delegate campaign announced key endorsements from leaders in both Chesterfield and Colonial Heights. They shared the following messages of support:

Colonial Heights Mayor Greg Konchuba – “Now more than ever, Virginia’s General Assembly needs a balance of power. Mike is always well prepared, strives to improve the community through thoughtful problem solving, supports his constituents, and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes is right.”

Colonial Heights Sheriff Todd Wilson –“As Sheriff, I have had the privilege of working closely with Mike as he serves on City Council and as a law enforcement Chaplain with the Colonial Heights Police Department. What I have observed is this; Mike Cherry’s personal and professional character remains steadfast no matter where you encounter him. Whether it is as a caring neighbor, a community leader or a guiding Chaplain, Mike Cherry remains the same person who is always looking to serve.”

Chesterfield School Board Chair Ryan Harter – “As a fellow educator, veteran, and conservative, it gives me honor to endorse Mike Cherry for Delegate. His focus on protecting Constitutional rights and supporting law enforcement, and his desire to improve our education system make Mike the right person to represent the 66th District. Mike’s deep belief in Faith, Family, and Freedom are exactly what Virginians need right now.”

“I’m thankful and humbled to have the support of leaders from across the 66th District,” said Cherry. “Education reform, backing our Law Enforcement officers, and defending our constitutional rights – these are the pillars of my campaign. The support from our local leadership shows that those who are paying attention to these matters believe in my vision for our district, and we’re going to work together to keep this a Republican seat in the House of Delegates and win back the Majority.”

In addition to the coalition of support building behind his candidacy, in his first fundraising report Mike Cherry raised more than double that of his potential democratic opponents.

Mike Cherry was elected to City Council in Colonial Heights in 2016 and still currently serves his community there. An Air Force Veteran, he is currently a Staff Pastor at Life Church and is Head of School at Life Christian Academy. He and his wife Teresa live in Colonial Heights.
